SVU 3.0 is a nice hybrid between OG’s episodic stubbornness and OC’s fully serialized arcs.
Therapeutic intake is tedious and repetitive, and such a scene would grind the movie to a halt, but it might have saved Finch’s life.
Girl, Interrupted (Columbia Pictures, 1999) and The King of Staten Island (Universal Pictures, 2020) were released two decades apart.
These portrayals may tell a good story, but they do not portray good therapy.
In another universe the film might be considered a brilliant commentary on the absurdities of expectations in modern society. I think that’s what it was going for.
